English Language Courses
For over 35 years, The Abbey College has developed English language courses to meet every requirement, alongside the main academic school. Our language courses are available to all age groups and abilities and run throughout the year for short or long term courses.
All Abbey College teachers have a thorough knowledge of modern teaching methods. Teachers are qualified and experienced in teaching foreign students. The College has high teaching standards and strong English language examination success rates.
Student Placement
All students take a placement test on the first day of their course. The exact level of each student can then be determined and the student is placed in a class which is best suited to their age and ability. There are classes of various levels depending on the time of year and number of students, which vary from Beginner to Advanced.
Course Content
The language focus of our courses is supported by cultural discussions, with a variety of prepared cultural outings. Our healthy mixture of nationalities ensures the language spoken outside the classroom is predominantly English. All activities are carefully planned to enable students to practice and improve their skills.
Every student receives an individual Certificate of Attendance and teacher's report at the end of their course.
